Preventive Services

Fire Hose Reels 

  • Inspecting the overall condition. Checking the hose reels and nozzles for leakage. Testing hose reel units in random samples. 
  • Flushing out the hose reel to ensure that no waste materials are trapped inside. 
  • Testing the hose reel nozzle in open and closed conditions. 
  • Testing the landing valve by connecting the hose both in open and closed conditions. 
  • Testing the system and labelling with the date tested. 
  • Advising additional requirements/rectifications (if necessary). 

Fire Alarm Systems

Preventive Maintenance includes: 

  • Inspecting visually the overall condition of the system. 
  • Checking and servicing the control panel and ensuring that the system is maintained in healthy condition. 
  • Ensuring that all boards, LED transformers, relay, etc. functioning properly. 
  • Checking/Testing and cleaning smoke detectors, heat detectors, and all equipment through random sampling (to complete one cyclic round in a period of one year). 
  • Checking and cleaning Fire Alarm bells/sounders. 
  • Testing the battery and making sure it is properly connected. 
  • Testing the system and labelling panels with dates tested. 
  • Advising on additional requirements/any rectifications (if necessary). 

Emergency / Exit Lighting System 

  • Inspecting visually the overall condition of the system. 
  • Checking and servicing the control panel and ensuring that the system is maintained in healthy condition. 
  • Ensuring that all boards, LED transformers, relay, etc. functioning properly. 
  • Carrying out visual inspections for all fluorescent lights for signs of aging or damage and recommending replacement if necessary. 
  • Simulating a power failure by disconnecting the power supply from MDB and testing the lights for proper functioning. 
  • Preparing a report on lights that fail to function for the discharge test. 
  • Advising additional requirements (if necessary). 

Protection Services

Fire Extinguishers 

  • Inspecting the overall condition of the extinguishers. 
  • Checking seals and pressure gauges. 
  • Turning the cylinder upside down to ensure that the powder is free flowing without lumps (for DCP Fire Extinguishers). 
  • Testing the system and labelling with the date tested. 
  • Advising additional requirements where necessary. 

Sprinkler Systems

  • Checking the position of control valves (locked or supervised). 
  • Checking and ensuring optimal sprinkler head condition. 
  • Operating system to verify initiation and receipt of alarm for water flow alarm devices. 
  • Checking the exterior of valves, gauges, and trim alignment for alarm valve and trim 
  • Verifying valve pressure and legibility of hydraulic nameplate. 
  • Verifying overall accessibility and condition. 
  • Checking for obstructions and if caps are removed or missing. 
  • Lubricating valves and stems to ensure operability. 
  • Testing the system and labelling with the date tested. 
  • Advising additional requirements where necessary. 

Fire Pump Set 

  • Inspecting and checking of the overall condition 
  • Checking of control panel and ensuring the 
  •  Ensuring relays and magnetic contact are in working condition. 
  • Testing all pumps in Manual and Auto mode. 
  • Checking that diesel and oil levels are maintained at required levels. 
  • Checking the electrolyte level of the battery and topping it up with distilled water if necessary. 
  • Inspecting for leaks and worn valve threads. 
  • Verifying position of control valves (locked or supervised). 
  • Checking overall accessibility and physical condition. 
  • Testing the system and labelling with the date tested. 
  • Advising additional requirements where necessary.
